New ROSE Feature

The ROSE Women’s Club ..

ROSE has started a new feature for the Transsexual Woman. It's called the The Women's Club. This new Club is strictly for the Transsexual Women because their needs are more then just wanting to go out dressed as a women. Transsexual Women need much more help in living full time and becoming who they really are. They have many more hurtles to get over and many more obstacles to face. The ROSE Women's club has formed to help these women get over these hurtles and begin to live a fuller life as who they really are, a Natural Woman ....

The Rose Women's Club provides a location for the Male to Female Transsexual Community to meet among themselves to discuss issues and problems pertaining to just them and allow support for each other for issues and problems. The Womens Club would allow for the Male to female Transsexual members to set up Educational and supportive programs especially designed just for them and propose other programs designed toward Genetic female habits and hobbies, invite Genetic Females who are supportive to them to their meetings to give support and vital information on how to portray ones self as Female in the population, and to help project a better Female image and character in a public atmosphere or surrounding.  Also the members of the Women's Club can set up outings for themselves just for the members of the ROSE Women's Club to go on trips, dinners, sports events etc as a group and become much more acquainted with each other and form bonds as friends in the Male to Female Transsexual community for support and guidance. The point is the club will unite the Trans Women in the community and give them a specific place to meet and discuss anything and everything that pertains to just them helping them to live a fuller and happier life as true women, eventually, helping them when they finally make that major decision to venture out and begin life as the real true women they are, some leaving the Transsexual community behind ....

The Women's Club will meet on ROSE Regular meeting nights and join in for Chapter News and other Chapter information then break off into their own meeting which will be in a different part of the Meeting Location. Their meeting is open strictly for Trans Women. Crossdresssr's and others are welcome to attend by invitation only or by permission from the womens Club Directors ...

What will the Women's Club offer .... Below is a short list of what is offered ..

. The ROSE Women's Club will provide extensive Transsexual Support and Education ...
. Welcome New Transsexual's to the Group and try to help them feel comfortable and relaxed in the ROSE
Atmosphere and among others like themselves...
. Discuss Members situation's and try to submit referencesand pointers to help them if any other help is indicated ...
. Discuss what to expect on the Male to Female Transsexual Journey
. Provide Information and Direction for Transitioning ...
. Provide information on the safe and unsafe use of Hormones ...
. Provide information about and how to get legal access to Hormones ...
. Help with Issues and Problems ...
. Provide a location for Male to Female Transsexuals to have as a safe haven ...
. To meet others like themselves and discuss the issues faced in the everyday journey of living full time as the
  Transsexual women ...
. Create programs that will support and improve a Transsexual women's everyday life ...
. An outlet to vent frustrating Transsexual situations ...
. Put together trips or excursions of interest to the M to F Transsexual membership and or community ...
. Transsexual Group discussions about Male to Female Transsexuals and living full time as a Transsexual woman ...
. Invite Gender women who are friendly to the Transsexual Journey to help provide information and to teach how to
become more like a Genetic women in all aspects of being a genetic women ... such as below ...

How to dress like a Genetic Female.
How to act like a Genetic Female
How to walk like a Genetic Female
How to talk  like a Genetic Female
How to create your true Female character
How to stand like Genetic Female
How to sit like a Genetic Female
How to think like a Gentic female
How to move like a Gentic Female

. Access to a list of Transsexual friendly Doctors, Counselors, Churches, Businesses, Stores, Possible Job
information were Transsexuals can openly work full time, etc ...
. Answers to the many Questions that will arise by Transsexual women who have been on or presently on the
Transsexual Journey living and working full time that have faced the many challenges already. Pier support is one of
the greatest ways to get positive support.

There is now and are going to be lots more available for the Transsexual Women in The Womens Club because we believe that the Journey should be a happy, memorable and beautiful journey and be able to live a full filled womens life without the horrors that can make it a nightmare ...

This is a list put together by a few Transsexual women who would have liked to have had information like this available to them during their Transsexual Journey.

If I were to start my Transsexual Journey tomorrow this is what I would like to have available to me and more to help me get over the hurtles and the horrors I know I would be facing. I have put my Transsexual Journey off for many many years because of the unknowns and affraid to face the horrors and consequences of the possibility of losing my family, friends, job and other precious parts of my life that I had come to enjoy that full filled my life for so long .....  If things like the above had been available to me many many years ago I would be living my dream right now ... but now ... being 65 ... I am to set in my ways to make such a major change in my life. I have become comfortable living as I have for the last 65 years. There are others just like me who need to have help making that major, life changing decision and finding out just who they are and where they stand in the Transgender community. The Womens Club can help these people so they do not have to live the life I have being afraid of making that major decision in life ....

I hope some will take advantage of the New ROSE Womens Club even just for a short while ...  just to see how much they can benefit from it, it could help change their life for the better in many ways and fullfill there lifes dream ....

Transgender Day of Rememberance
  Saturday, November 20, 2010

There will be a candlelight vigil from 4:30 to 6:00 PM on the front steps of the Capitol building on Third St.  The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28th, 1998 kicked off the “Remembering Our Dead web project and a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999.  Rita Hester’s murder – like most anti-transgender murder cases has not been solved.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance serves several purposes. It raises public awareness of hate crimes against transgender people, an action that current media doesn’t perform. Day of Remembrance publicly mourns and honors the lives of our brothers and sisters who might otherwise be forgotten. Through the vigil, we express love and respect for our people in the face of national indifference and hatred. Day of Remembrance reminds non-transgender people that we are their sons, daughters, parents, friends and lovers. Day of Remembrance gives our allies a chance to step forward with us and stand in vigil, memorializing those of us who’ve died by anti-transgender violence.

From Lucille Sorella:
Male to Female feminization tips:

• DO choose full skirts and dresses to draw the eye out. (More width = less height.)
• DON’T wear super tight clothes. (Less width = more height.)
• DO wear a different color top and bottom to visually break up your figure.
• DON’T wear monochromatic outfits since this makes you look even taller.
• DO wear a contrasting belt to interrupt the eye from going straight up and down.

Yes, it’s true you might be taller than the average woman. But don’t forget about the sexy tall women out there who are revered for their long legs and height! These lovely ladies are all 6 feet tall or taller:  Brooke Shields, Elle MacPherson, Maria Sharapova, Geena Davis, Venus Williams, Uma Thurman and many more.

The following two articles are excerpts from the
Cross Dressing Guide written by Jamie Young:

http://www.Cross-Dressing-Guide.com/

Cross dressing to look and be feminine requires many steps to
success. Such steps include attire such as dainty and frilly
underwear and clothes, personality and behaviour such as speaking
politely and most of all image. A man wearing a skirt with hairy
arms and legs is not a feminine look nor a good look in general.

#1
Aim for the feminine look. To look feminine to be feminine, body
hair must be obsolete, shave or wax (preferable wax) body hair off
completely. Legs, arms, back, neck, nose and ear, and genital hair
including between the crack of your bum this is called a Brazilian
or Hollywood wax where you will be waxed on the shaft and base of
your penis, scrotum and anus. You can seek a professional to do
such waxing for you. The feel and sensation of soft smooth skin
next to silk or satin is amazing if this step is achieved to be
feminine.

#2
Dress in a feminine fashion. Attire is very important to achieve a
feminine look. Colours such as pink, lilac, and yellow are feminine
colours and look great as underwear. For underwear avoid skimpy
looking underwear such as g-strings and thongs, but adopt a more
conservative image such as full brief, cheeky or bikini style.
Don't forget to also have on your panties lots of feminine lace and
dainty bows to complete the look. With underwear ALWAYS, AND I MEAN
ALWAYS hand wash your bras and panties then hang them outside to
dry.

#3
Select a bra, if desired. A bra can be an option if you feel
comfortable, ensure that the bra is well supportive otherwise it
will hurt you. Make certain that your bra and panties are a match.
Loose fitting clothes such as skirts and dresses are great to feel
feminine as the feel of a skirt blowing around between your legs is
incredible. For tops avoid loose fitting items as they will
decrease your bust and curvaceous shape.

#4
Choose your swimwear wisely. For bathers, avoid skimpy two piece
bikini costumes as they are too small in size to support a male
(bikini's are not cut or designed to fit a male figure) A one piece
will look feminine as a bikini would on a female.

#5
Makeup is a great option to look feminine to feel feminine. But I
emphasize that you don't over do it. Apply minimal foundation and
blush to your cheeks to obtain a radiant appearance. Eye shadow and
liner is also a sweet look if not over the top. A sweet feminine
perfume is also a terrific method to look and feel feminine plus
smelling sweet as sugar.

#6
Select the right shoes. High heels also come in handy to achieve
height if you are small in height, however don't over do the size of
the heel. If you are uncomfortable in heels nice feminine flats are
just as great.

#7
Develop your feminine personality. Personality and behaviour must
be perfected to achieve a feminine persona. Avoid crude remarks and
attitude, and always use please, thank you and excuse me when
speaking. When walking stand straight, shoulders back and head up,
avoid slouching as this is perceived as a masculine trait.

#8
Always cross your legs when seated. When seated I emphasize this DO
CROSS YOUR LEGS AT ALL TIMES, otherwise all will have an
opportunity to look down under at your pretty panties, that is NOT
a feminine thing to do, showing off your panties. When wanting to
get up uncross your legs, then with your legs together, then sit up
(this technique will avoid any panty action a passing by person
will see)

.And more…
Tips on How to Pass as a Woman

For individuals born male, blending as a woman can be
challenging, even a frightening endeavor. Whether you are transgender
or just having fun, this article will help you achieve convincing
femininity.

#1
Consider the whole package. How old are you? What's your body
type? What kind of look do you want? Envision the woman you will
become.

#2
Take a shower. Wash your hair and condition it. Guys often have
drier, coarser hair than girls, so you may need a "leave-in"
conditioner as well. Shave your body (at least legs, pits, and
chest). If you haven't done this in a while, be prepared to go
through multiple razor blades. Moisturizing body soap is a good
idea, and of course moisturizing lotion after you've toweled off.

#3
Lose the stubble. A close shave is a must: use a sharp blade and
take your time. Be gentle; you don't want to irritate your skin.
Close your pores with a gentle skin toner, and of course,
moisturize. Try using a dab of non-greasy sun block. It'll protect
your skin from wrinkles caused by UV-damage. If you really want to
keep stubble away, try waxing, electrolysis, or laser hair removal.

#4
Pluck your eyebrows. Remove stray hairs from under and between the
brows until a natural arch-shape is achieved. Don't go too crazy:
for highly stylized brows, seek a professional.

#5
Do your nails. At the very least, ensure they are clean and not
ragged. Clear polish is always classy, but there is a world of
options. When was the last time you had a manicure?

#6
Make sure you have enough hair! If you don't have enough of it,
you'll need a wig -- a good wig. Otherwise, go to a salon and get
it done right. Ask questions. These people know hair; a good
stylist can tell you not only what's in style, but also what will
look good on you. Have an idea of what you want going in, but be
open to input as well.

#7
Cover your shadow. Find a cover-up and/or liquid foundation that
closely matches your skin tone, plus a matching powder to "set" the
foundation. Use a moisturizer first--it acts like a primer coat;
the rest of your makeup will go on much easier and look better.
Make sure to blend so there's no clear line between makeup and
naked skin. "Five o'clock shadow" is a major cause of not passing,
or "being clocked."

#8
Apply blush. With all this makeup on, you run the risk of looking
pallid without blush. Smile and you will see your cheeks' "apples",
the round parts that rise up. Color them with gently curving upward
brush-strokes. Be subtle. Blush can also soften jaw lines,
emphasize cheekbones, define noses, minimize foreheads, etc.
Generally, darker areas seem to recede, lighter area pop out. Don't
overdo it. You don't want to appear clownish.

#9
Pay attention to your eyes and lips. Learn how to put on makeup for
those areas as well, even if you don't plan on wearing it daily.
Emphasize either your eyes or your lips, but not both. If you want
dark, smoky eyes, then stick to lip gloss, or a subtle lipstick. If
you want red, vampy lips, then limit yourself to mascara, and maybe
a light eye shadow. The temptation to overdo makeup is common for
most beginners. Remember to tailor your makeup to the occasion.
Keep it classy, and you'll pass.

#10
Make sure you have curves in all the right places and pay attention
to where you "shouldn't" have bulges. Padded bras and tight panties
(or bikini bottoms) are a good place to start. Corsets, gaffs,
breast forms, and other specialized body-shapers are also
available, but for the truly committed, hormones and surgery are
the best solution.

#11
Choose an outfit that best suits your frame. Plunging necklines
draw attention from broad shoulders. Empire waists de-emphasize
narrow hips, beer bellies, and flat asses. Your legs are your best
feature, so feature them (and for God's sake shave!). Knowing your
body, and working with it, is essential to passing.

#12
Improve your posture, and realize that feminine gestures--even
slight ones--are very important. Watch a woman speaking naturally,
and note her gestures and facial expressions. Smile. Walk with your
legs, not with your shoulders. Suck in your gut. Stand up straight.
Glide.

#13
Work on your voice. Women's voices tend not only to be higher
pitched, but also more melodic (an extreme example is "valley
girl"). We tend to take on the vocal patterns of those we spend a
lot of time with, so find a girl friend to emulate. The best
practice is talking to real people in public situations; you'd be
amazed how it helps your motivation. There are also tapes,
articles, and the like available on the internet, but if you're not
satisfied with your progress, consider seeking out a professional
speech therapist.

Why?
By
Stephanie Christine (Chrissy) Delp

Not really sure how to start this and yet I have thought that this may be something Ellen may like for her newsletter. Please be kind as this is the first time I have ever written an article.
On my journey, that I have barely started but have been pursuing for many years now, I hear things about the journey and wonder why? One thing I have heard many times is the final step Sexual Realignment Surgery, that many find it unimportant and anti-climatic. I have heard it said that many that reach this stage, feel it's really unimportant. And I have wondered why? For me it would be the most important part. But then I am really at the beginning.  The journey to becoming who you really are is a very long one. For many of us it starts as a child and continues well into our adulthood before we even start transitioning. Thus it is a very long road indeed. So how could anyone that makes it to the end (SRS) feel to become the sex they identify with unimportant?
I think the best way to illustrate just how important SRS is to me was a scene from Gray's Anatomy. A transwomen was in the hospital for SRS and found out that she had breast cancer and thus needed to stop the hormones. She asked if she did, then would she revert back to her male body and not be able to go through with the SRS. She was told yes. To quote her and the way I feel and I think most feel " I would rather die a female then live as a male."  So how could SRS be unimportant?
I have thought about this long and hard and I think I now understand why it's really unimportant. As we transition, which at a good pace takes two years at best. In this time we have to spend a year living in our sexual identity. To do this we have to come out and try and help our friends and families understand and accept us as we are. In this process I'm sure many of us have heard the horror stories and even lived through some of them. For those lucky few, our families have accepted us and our friends still stand by us. But for many at best we have lost our families and even our closest friends have turned their backs on us. Even through this devastation we continue. Most have lost incomes over it and yet we persist.
A funny thing happens along the way. We start finding friends that see us only as our sexual identity. Some of those friends become like a member of our family replacing those we have lost. They accept us for who we are, never judging us or even wondering why. We are just who we are. And in the end isn't that all we are looking for. Just to be accepted for who we are. Thus being accepted as our sexual identify makes SRS really unimportant. But we do have it just to complete a journey we started at birth.
So I hope for all those reading this and those traveling on our journey, Acceptance. Be well and safe.

Tools of the Trade for Crossdressers
By: Jamie Young
http://www.Cross-Dressing-Guide.com/

Every job has its tools. Things can get complicated in a kitchen without the right pots and pans. The same is true for applying makeup. Cosmetic companies love to give away brush sets as free gifts and stores are filled with brush sets in every shape and size, "Just in time for Christmas." And like much of what we buy at the cosmetics counter, they end up in a drawer, never to come out of their pretty packaging, usually because we have no idea what to do with them. What I found to be the problem with most brush sets, is that, even if they are good quality, many of the brushes serve no useful purpose. Below, I've listed the four brushes and other tools you absolutely need and a few others that are nice to have.

Makeup application begins with concealer, foundation, and powder.  Unless you are using a mineral powder foundation, the concealer and foundation can be applied with your finger-not your hand. Use the middle or ring finger to gently smooth on concealer or foundation. The index finger pulls too much on the skin.

Sponge applicators are okay, but they tend to absorb more foundation than you need. Dampen the sponge first to eliminate that problem. Sponges also breed bacteria, so either use a new sponge with each application, or wash it with soap and water after each
use.

Foundation brushes are nice for smoothing out foundation and concealer around the eyes. For the full face, they can be time consuming. Foundation brushes are flat with a curved top and wedged bristles.

For applying powder, big, fluffy brushes are fun, but they can waste product. I recommend a cosmetic foam pad. Press pad lightly into powder, tap off excess, and then press powder onto face. I usually start under the eyes to keep concealer from creasing, and then work my way around the face until powder disappears. Use that big, fluffy brush to dust away any excess. The pads are large enough to use a different half and/or side with each application. Once both sides have been used, wash with soap and water. They last for ages, but it doesn't hurt to toss them out after six months.

Most of us think of blush brushes as smaller versions of a powder brush. Like a powder brush, I find they waste too much product and you end up with apple cheeks. The brush I use is a larger, fluffier version of the foundation brush. Instead of rubbing the top of the
brush into your blush, place the side of the brush on the blush palate and give it a little wiggle. The wedged bristles pick up just enough blush. With a light touch, brush over the cheekbone in a comma stroke from the corner of the eyes towards the nose.

For a more dramatic look, use the same technique layering color on. It is easier to add color than trying to take it off. In case, you do apply too much, no worries. Simply take your big, fluffy powder brush and make large circles over the blush. This will soften the
color and eliminate any lines of demarcation.

Next, the eyes. Find a small version of the foundation brush-flat, with curved top and wedged bristles. With this brush, apply a light-colored shadow from the lashes all the way up to the brow. Next find a small round brush that is cut in such a way that the top comes to a point. That point should fit into the eye crease. Apply a darker shade in the crease. (I'll have a whole article on eye makeup at a later date.)

Must haves: powder pad, powder brush, blush brush, and two eye shadow brushes. Also needed in your makeup bag: cotton pads (100% cotton), Q-tips, sponge applicators (usually come with eye shadows), and an oil-free eye makeup remover. NEVER use Vaseline or baby oil on eyes.

Nice to haves: foundation brush, brow brush or comb, eyelash curler (if you have the patience), and a small angled brush for detail work around the eyes. I rarely, if ever use a lip brush, but they are useful for dabbing on a touch of gloss.

Article:
Passing As A Woman In Our Modern Times
By: Jamie Young

Hello ,

In modern times the endeavor of trying to pass is most often practiced by cross-dressers and transsexuals. Because most performers, drag queens, and drag kings are often open about their natal sex and are not actually trying to appear to be the opposite gender, they are not typically referred to as passing, even though
some may be able to do so. Similarly, while many cross-dressers who venture out into public areas do try to pass, unlike transsexuals, they do not (usually) undergo any permanent physical alterations or
attempt to live full-time as their adopted sex in order to make passing easier.

Conversely, almost all transsexuals will attempt to live and work as their preferred gender and be fully accepted as that gender rather than their natal sex. Therefore, passing is not just an option but is seen as a necessity by many. The majority who have undergone sexual reassignment surgery or who are past the transition stage do not usually refer to themselves as passing, since they now consider themselves to actually be that gender.
Those who are completely accepted after transition often choose not to disclose their natal sex and instead live in stealth.

Transgender people who do not describe themselves as either cross dressers, transvestites, or transsexuals may have different attitudes towards passing. For example, they might not try to pass at all, they may send consciously mixed signals, or they might be able to pass but do not hide the fact that they are transgender.
Personal views on passing and the desire or need to pass are independent of whether an individual has had medical treatment or has legally changed their gender.

In the transgender community, those that cannot pass may sometimes view those that pass with jealousy. Because of this, there may be a tendency for some of those who pass to avoid those that are easily read. There is the perception among many that when one person is read, anyone with that person will be assumed to be transgender by association. This is one reason why people living in stealth rarely if ever associate with other transgender people.

It should be noted that the use of the term "passing" regarding sexual orientation denotes "hiding" one's identity, where use among gender-variant people (as noted above) signals acceptance and concordance with one's internal sense of or desired gender identity. However, for this reason, and because transgender persons
who come to live full-time in their desired gender/sex identity often recognize their previous attempts to conceal their identity and be accepted in socially-accepted and designated roles as the real artifice they constructed and protected, some have begun to instead call their previous gender-normative and concealing
behaviours as "passing".

Warmest regards,
Jamie Young

Subj: What Is "Passing"?
By: Jamie Young
Dear ,

Passing, in regard to gender identity, refers to a person's ability to be accepted or regarded as a member of the sex or gender with which they identify, or with which they physically present. Typically, passing involves a mixture of physical gender cues (for example, hair style or clothing) as well as certain behavioral attributes that tend to be culturally associated with a particular gender. Irrespective of a person's presentation, many experienced
crossdressers assert that confidence is far more important for passing than the physical aspects of appearance.

Persons seeking to pass as the opposite gender to their natal sex will, by necessity, seek to hide or disguise features that are specific or more common in their natal sex while emphasising or artificially creating features that are indicative of the gender that they seek to present.

PASSING AS FEMALE

For natal males passing as female, this will typically involve wearing of a wig or styling their hair in a manner usually specific to females, removing or disguising facial hair and wearing makeup to make their face appear female, altering their body to resemble that of a female, wearing female clothing and accessories, speaking
in a voice that fits their presentation and adopting 'female' mannerisms.  Alterations to make the face and body appear female fall into two categories: temporary items that are applied or worn, and surgical alterations.

TEMPORARY ALTERATION OF BODY PROPORTIONS

A variety of materials and methods are used to alter the apparent body proportions to create the illusion of a female body shape.

Some form of breast prostheses are usually used. If the clothing being worn will reveal the breast cleavage, some type of cleavage enhancement technique is also used.

Various methods are used to create a female waist-hip ratio, by either reducing the waist size and/or enlarging the hips and buttocks. A garment such as a corset, BodyBriefer or control brief is often used to reduce the apparent waist size and/or to flatten the stomach area. Hip and buttock padding is sometimes used to
enlarge the apparent size of the hips and buttocks.

PERMANENT ALTERATION OF BODY PROPORTIONS

Cosmetic surgery procedures that are often used by transsexual persons living permanently as females include breast augmentation, liposuction and Buttock augmentation. The use of female hormones also alters the body, including changing the distribution of body fat.

Warmest regards,
Jamie Young
