Hello everyone,
Welcome to Renaissance of South Eastern Pennsylvania, also known as ROSE.
We are a non profit Educational and Support Organization for the Transgender
Community serving the local Transgender Community. Our mission is to provide
the very best comprehensive education and caring support to Transgender
individuals and those close to them. This is accomplished through offering a
variety of carefully selected programs and resources focused on the factors
affecting their lives and significant others. We gather together for our meetings in
Mountville, Pa which is about 17 miles east of York, Pa. off of Route 30 East or
West. We meet in the MCC Church in Mountville, Pa. Located at 130 East Main
Street in the back community room. We chose to meet here because of its ideal
location which is centrally located for York, Harrisburg, Lancaster and other
surrounding cities and counties. Safety, security, secrecy and privacy are very
important factors that we take very seriously for anyone who comes to our
meetings.
Our meeting dates are on the second Friday of each month with Special
announced meetings which will be held on the Forth Friday of the month. Doors open at 7:30. Everyone is invited to come to our meetings if you are Transgender seeking help guidance, support or Education, or even if your just seeking friendships and needing to meet others like ourselves, supporter of the Transgender community, family seeking guidance to help family members who are Transgender, friends and co workers who support their Transgender co workers and friends. Mere curiosity seekers are not welcome.
Directions to Meeting Location:
From route 30 East
Route 30 East to exit for Mountville, Pa.
Turn right at end of Exit and follow to main street
Turn left onto Main Street and follow to 130 Main Street
Just before passing the church on your right side there will be a right turn between
The Church and another building, turn right into that side street
Go to end and you will see a parking lot to your left, Park there and you'll see a Door.
That is the entrance to the meeting Hall ..........
To MCC Church from Route 30 West:
West on Route 30 to Mountville, Pa Exit.
Go to end of exit and turn left
Then continue following direction from route 30 East
The MCC Church is secure and provides a very safe haven to meet where you can be yourself without fear of ridcule, being made fun of or worrying about your birth male or female gender identity. Identity secrecy is a main factor at our meeting location for members and visitors. You can come to meetings dressed in your preferred Gender clothing or you can bring your preferred clothing and change at the church in the areas provided, or come to meetings dressed as your everyday self, which ever makes you feel more comfortable. There are no specific dress codes to attend our meetings except dress within reason. There will also be light refreshments provided at meetings for all to enjoy.
Our meeting schedule is as follows:
Our Support and Educational Meetings are held the second Friday of each month. We also hold special meetings on the Forth Friday of each month which will be announced for the Forth Friday, if you do not hear any announcements for the Forth Friday there will be no meeting at that time. You can also check our web site in the Meeting Schedule Section for special meeting dates. This time is used for Special meetings, Special chapter events, Board meetings, Educational classes and other Chapter functions so they do not interfere with our regular Chapter meetings.............Doors open at 7:30 PM on meeting nights. From the time the doors open until the Transgender Forum begins everyone can mingle, meet and get acquainted. We ask for a $5.00 meeting attendance donation for anyone who comes to meetings that are not members of ROSE, but no one will be turned away from our meetings if you do not have the donation. There is a yearly membership fee of $40.00 for those who wish to become members of Renaissance of South Eastern Pennsylvania. This fee is payable in payments of $10.00 increments at each meeting until you have reached the yearly membership fee then you will become a member retro active back to your first installment or pay in full at any meeting. Those who attend meetings who are not members and pay the $5.00 meeting attendance donation have the opportunity to become members retro active back to your first meeting payment at the time you reach the $40.00 membership fee if it is within12 months of your first domantion. Yearly Membership fees and donations are used to pay for the rental fee for the meeting location, supply refreshments and to help with members programs and chapter expenses. A monthly Treasury report is given at each meeting in detail in reference to chapter spending of funds. We will begin meeting nights with a Transgender Forum* starting at 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM. This is an open Transgender Forum and anything can be discussed related to Transgender issues from still being in the closet to Transition and SRS Surgery as well as anything related in between. This forum is for support and education as well as guidance and help to TG individuals seeking help and information and wishing to learn more about themselves and the Transgender Community. We can all share our experiences and what we have learned in our life's Transgender journey to help and guide others. We also invite Parents of Transgender Children to come to our Transgender forum and meetings to learn about their Transgender Children and what to expect and to seek help and guidance for them. The Transgender Forum will last one hour but may continue longer depending on the interest and subject matter. Click here to meet our Board Members. After the forum we will break for 10 to 15 minutes to get refreshments, stretch, mingle, make acquaintances or general chat. After the break we will go into our regular meeting, discuss plans, future programs, listen to members discuss subjects of interest related to the TG Community, go into demonstrations or listen to special guest speakers or even provide an entire group discussion to help one of our own with a problem or problems one or others may be experiencing. After any demonstrations or listening to speakers will we break into 2 groups, one group for crossdressing issues and or discussion and one group for Transsexual issues and or discussions. Anyone can attend either group, there are no restrictions on which group you can sit in on. Meetings are from time doors open at 7:30 PM until between 11 PM and 11:30 PM .............. It is the duty of all present at meetings to make sure the meeting location is clean and in the condition it was when we arrived ....
Our main objective in Renaissance of South Eastern Pennsylvania is Support and Education with a means for TG individuals to have a place were they can meet and feel secure, safe, private and which can help maintain a member's secrecy. You will find our group to be friendly, compassionate and understanding. A place where you can be comfortable being yourself. If you are in search of acceptance, we have it. Information? ...... There's lots of advice to go around, most of it from those of us who have been where you are or are going and have been. We learn from one another by each other's experiences, successes and failures. We offer support for those who desire to take the next step.
One thing we do wish to express here at ROSE and that is regardless of whether you are a member of the Transgender Community who identify as Gay, Straight , Bisexual , Heterosexual, Transsexual, Crossdresser, MTF or FTM, Post Op or Pre Op or any other member of the Transgender Community; we all have the same purpose. We are all on our Transgender Journey in life. Some of us will take different turns on the Transgender Highway to reach our final peace of mind but we are all here for the same reasons. Everyone will be respected; that makes no one any better then the next person no matter who you are....... everyone will be treated as an equal....
