Hello Everyone,
The Board of Directors of Renaissance of South Eastern Pennsylvania, also known as ROSE, realizes and understands that there are many in the Transgender Community in York, Pa and surrounding localities, who would love to have the opportunity to talk to a Professional Licensed Therapist or Social Worker about their Transgenderism/crossdressing/ Transsexuality but just cannot afford it. For some time now ROSE has been searching for such a Professional who would be willing to donate some of their valuable time to help those who are in need of or would like to have Transgender Therapy but just cannot afford the fee's involved.
We would like to announce that we have located that Professional. This wonderful Lady is well aware of the process, problems, and promise of coming to terms with your true self'. While it is not possible to provide individual therapy in the setting we are envisioning, she can provide an opportunity for you to regularly participate in a structured group conversation that will allow you to safely explore and perhaps better understand where you are, where you would like to be, and the realistic options available to you.
The person we have chosen, and who has agreed to donate her time to us, is Alexis Lake, MSS, LSW. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College's School of Social Work and Social Research specializing in Clinical Social Work. Among her areas of expertise are sexual orientation and sexual identity as they relate to the individual, loss, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, as well as his or her friends and loved ones’ needs. She has had experience working with acute mental illness in a hospital setting and has interned as a therapist for the Mazzoni Center in the city of Philadelphia, Pa., a clinic that specializes in serving the TLGBQ population. She is someone who can definitely help Transsexuals and Cross dressers with their fears, their issues, and problems and answer the many questions that seem to never end.
We are offering her services in a series of Transgender, structured group conversations every third Month of the Year on the third Saturday of that month at the York, Pa. ROSE Chapter. All are invited to attend this wonderful opportunity graciously provided by Alexis.
The Third scheduled group session will be December 18 th, 2010, at the York, Pa ROSE Chapter
Always with the best interest in the Transgender Community
